Specialized etc.

So, we got some props on Slowtwitch the other day. I'm not sure if that is good or not.

A) it is slowtwich so that means we are open to the ridicule and scrutiny of the most...shall we say enthusiastic of our tri-brethren.

B) it is slowtwitch which means that some 10,000 plus forum viewers probably found out about Without Limits Racing.

C) I wasn't quite ready to put us out there as were are still covering some bases.

Oh well, what is it they say, "there's not such thing as bad press"?

In addition to this I am hoping we will be doing a podcast with everymantri in the next week. So, we got that going for us...which is nice.

Even better is the above picture. We got the majority of our Specialized sponsored gear last week. All in all it was helmets, shoes, saddles, and some accessories (booties, gloves, etc). It's all kick ass stuff. The helmets fit much better then what I was using before. The aero helmets are one of, if not the, most aero on the market and much better ventilated then anything else out there. I am loving the road shoes (haven't used the tri shoes yet) we are on the same stuff as the pro road guys and they are freakin sweet.

Mad props go out to Specialized from Without Limits Racing, Thanks a ton guys.

Now all we need to do is get sorted with a shop sponsor so we can get bike going. You just shouldn't try to ride a cross bike year round. Not that it's all that bad but I have been using my cross bike for training in the off season because I don't care about getting it dirty, salty, snowy etc. and I sold everything else to pay the rent. It's not a big deal but yesterdays 4 hour ride started to wear on my tricepts since I can't quite get the right position with cross geometry. Once again, the glory of being a pro triathlete. On the up side I think the steeper seat angle I have had to adopt puts me in a place somewhat closer to TT angles. At least that's what I'm going with.

I'm hoping things will be sorted for bikes in the next week or two.

As for training its been a good week. Pretty much standard but getting a bit more into the high end stuff. Nothing too hard just some 1k's and VO2 work on the bike. Just kind of visiting the high end but not moving in full time. And, I busted out a blazing 2:08 200 on Friday. Not really something to stake my " I'm a swimmer now" title on but not too bad for having never done a 200 off the blocks before. My start sucks, my turns suck, but I'm pretty strong, so in the end I am sure I could do 1-200 further at that pace. I'd like to do it again I'm sure I could crack 2 just off experience. But, no worries. It's only Feb and I got time. Plus that was on the end of a 30k week with big days on Wed and Thursday (7000 yrds) and a good 3500 prior to the 200. So, I might have been a bit un-fresh. I guess that is what happens when you swim with a sprint coach who only every does short sets ;)

That's about it for now. I'm about to miss the new Family Guy.

Seacrest out....
