In the past week we have had a few different people question our team's name, Without Limits Racing. Some like it, some don't, some just don't understand. Here are a few explanations for those of you who are wondering.
- First, a bit of history. The name came from the fact that Lance had already established Without Limits Productions. It only makes sense to partner the two sides of our team under the same title umbrella. Thus, Without Limits Racing for the racing team.
- Next, Without Limits Racing is the name of our LLC and our organization on the whole. Meaning, you have to have a name for a new company and an image to link your platform to. You can't just go hunting for a budget and go in there saying "oh we have this team and you can be part of it". It makes things much more official to say, "if you partner with Without Limits Racing you will get...". This is nothing different then Slipstream, Highroad, Evernham Racing, DEI (Dale Earnheardt Inc.), etc.
- Last, this team name has become quite fortuitous in it's application to our team, our platform, our philosophy, and our image within the triathlon community. Quite simply we are the rebels. We are thinking outside the box and all that management lingo BS in order to create a better and more professional product (something pro triathlon needs but has a bad reputation of not supplying). The fact is we are a team Without Limits. We have a young and underestimated team. We have created a brand structure which has not been done before and many may feel isn't possible. We have embraced a training philosophy and approach which is alien to many, if not most, triathlete. (In short, sane training based on science, and logical application, not just hammering for hammering sake). The more I talk to people the more I really love this team name. I don't believe anything could better illustrate what we are all about than Without Limits Racing.
