I HATE the freakin things:
Back home in Neuevo Mexico we called them goat heads. That's pretty much the standard I guess. Some of you easterners never seem to know what we're talking about. But this is they.
They SUCK!
For some reason they seem to be extra prevalent this year. I've been getting flats nearly every ride this year. You kind of learn what to look for and areas to avoid but even all my experience has been useless this year. I might have to break down and either get spin-skins or a Stans injector for tubes, or tubeless wheels. I'm talkin to you DT Swiss or Specialized.
Anyway, I'm a bit nervous about what to expect tomorrow out at the res for the School Cross at the Res race. That place is notorious for goat heads. I guess, we'll see. Hopefully they were all ridden out already during the UCI race.
Look for a report tomorrow afternoon.
