Sorting out 2011

Below is the spreadsheet I've made to try to sort out what the hell I'm doing in 2011.

It's amazing how many races there are these days with some sort of prize purse. For that we are very fortunate.

However, it kind of sucks that there are so many races with so-so prize purses. Of course I shouldn't be saying that. Something is better than nothing, so shut up and don't complain, right?

Add to that the fact that there is now the WTC points systems (KPS, 70.3PS, 5150PS) which pretty much forces you to focus on WTC events if you want one of their events to be your "A" races. Really I don't mind this too much, it's just if I'm gonna be forced to do the WTC series I'd like to see more races with $100k plus purses rather than several on a single weekend with $25k or less. These $15k purses are a freaking joke. (keep in mind that is 15 divided by 2 for men and women, so 7.5 each side, ridiculous)

Also, the lack of depth is a killer. Pro racing has reached a point where there really aren't any cherry pick races. Yet, most of the races only pay 5 deep. So, if you aren't top 5 you get a goose egg.

It all makes for a rough time trying to sort what the best options are.

Oh and not to mention, while there are appearance fees, there aren't many, so that plays virtually no role for a guy like me.

I could sit here an complain for hours. However, the fact is it all comes down he pros not putting on a show worthy of a deeper prize purse. We need to be better about being pro.

Anyway, I need to have this sorted by December 1st. I'll keep you posted as to how things progress.
